Highlights: Amazing Customer Service, Huge Video on Demand catalogue, back-up service for football
Lowlights: Some VOD series missing or in foreign language, lack of self-help guidance. Date of Review: 20.10.2017
First Impressions
For the first review, we have Super Smart IPTV. I must admit that I know this service very well as I’m well into a 6-months subscription with Super Smart. I’m not sure this is fair on them but as a customer, I’m very confident to give my views so far.
The service is provided by a UK reseller and will give you all the UK channels that you need, this is complimented by a fantastic video on demand service (VOD) that has a huge range of choice. If you are looking for choice, you will not be disappointed, Super Smart IPTV has 840 live channels and a staggering 17,658 titles in their VOD catalogue.
Customer Service:
Customer support at Super Smart was one of the main reason why I subscribed to the service. From a simple message on Facebook, I liked the support, it was friendly, knowledgeable and has a dedicated Whatsapp group which also contained helpful people and had a great community feel to it.
This is backed up with a Facebook page and you can normally receive an answer to your problems in a short period of time. The community feel is further enhanced with competitions that run from time to time and of course, the usual football banter.
The admin of the group has a wealth of knowledge over several products and is always polite, patient and has an ability to communicate no matter what the customer’s level of experience.
One bit of feedback I would have is not to advise customers to reset their routers “every couple of days”. As broadband providers use DLM (Dynamic Line Management), repeated resetting of the router shows as a possible fault on the line. The network management will automatically reduce line speed to a previous stable rate, keep doing this and it will keep reducing the line speed and may contribute to the problem, rather than help it.
However, I can understand why this is said as many of the faults reported to the admin are due to internal factors rather than the IPTV service itself.
I feel It would be a good idea for the Facebook page to have some troubleshooting tips before support is contacted as it can be quite tedious for members of the support group to hear the same issues again and again. That said, the admin never gets frustrated and this is credit to him. Customer Service Score: 9.5: Excellent
Layout of the Channels:
The layout of the channels is logical and easy to navigate. The content is split up into categories for easy access. This is a list of the categories and how many channels are in each one;
UK entertainment (130 channels)
Kids (50 channels)
Envy Shows (12 channels)
UK Movies (43 channels)
UK Documentary (22 channels)
UK Music (32 channels)
UK Sport (74 channels)
Premiership Games (91 channels)
PPV (7 channels)
UK News (14 channels)
US Channels (112 channels)
Canadian (87 channels)
Indian (152 channels)
Uk Content: There are 130 channels listed in the UK Entertainment section and this includes regional BBC channels such as BBC Wales and BBC Scotland. Sometimes the provider changes the region of BBC, so you may get BBC Yorkshire and then BBC London but this is an observation rather than a criticism. All your favourites are here such as Sky One, E4 etc. The rest of the UK content is listed in its correct category, for example; Sky News is in the UK News section, History channel is in UK Documentary section and Sky Sports Premier is listed under UK Sports. A sensible choice, no complaints with that. The way the categories are listed make it a breeze to find what you are looking for and thankfully you are not overwhelmed with thousands of channels and must scroll through. Other Content: Other countries supplied are USA (112), Canadian (87) and Indian (152). Not as many as other providers but personally I am thankful as I would rather the admins time went into ensuring the UK material is maintained rather than channels I would never watch, selfish I know!
Video on Demand: Super Smart IPTV offer a huge range of movies on demand, again this are laid out logically under the genre of the film. There are;
Action & Adventure (596 Films)
Crime & Thriller (425 Films)
Comedy (667 Films)
Drama & Romance (484 Films)
Family & Animation (358 Films)
History & Biography (262 Films)
Horror & Sci-fi (520 Films)
Latest Movies (162 Films)
This is complimented by a huge range of TV shows, once again they are placed in an easy to navigate way, TV Shows 0-9, A-C, D-F, G-I etc.
A small bit of feedback is that I would like to see the TV shows placed into individual folders as you do need to scroll through an awful lot of TV shows to find a show sometimes. This is particularly irksome when you are in a section that has a lot of TV shows and you want the last one. A minor thing but hopefully will be sorted. The latest movies section is a bit slow to be updated in fairness, the same can be said of the TV series on VOD (“what do you mean the latest Game of Thrones isn’t there after two weeks”), I also found certain episodes were missing on some series (Modern Family) or had episodes in a different language. Which was annoying but with a collection of over 17,000 items, it’s probably unfair to expect 100% on that front.
Quality of streams:
The vast majority of times, the channels work perfectly. The quality on the FHD (full HD) is second to none and looks stunning on a big screen.
There are occasions when buffering is encountered (normally around teatime and bedtime), I’m not sure if this is due to server demand or more due to internal factors affecting my set-up but a rule of thumb I work by, “If BBC streams in HD via iPlayer and the speed test results are fine”, it is unlikely to be an issue this side. However, this is on rare occasions and most times it is great. The fact you can refer to the Whatsapp support group is both reassuring and helpful. It must be an English thing but I don’t mind having an issue as long it affects everyone.
Football has been an ongoing issue, not just for Super Smart but for other providers as well. Many servers are being affected by denial of service attacks and aggressive countermeasures. One thing I love about Super Smart is that they offer a back-up service (extra cost) which has provided a quality streaming service even when their main server is attacked. Trust me, you’re watching footy with a room full of people and the last thing you need is buffering and an unwatchable game so fair play to the admin for providing a back-up.
Back-up Server:
A huge bonus when you take out a trial with Super Smart is that the admin gives you access to not one but two servers. Another added benefit is that if you buy the full package, you can get the second server for a discounted fee of £25. Although most people will use this as a back-up for the sports, the second package does contain some great goodies that are worth having and for the equivalent of 50p a week extra, it’s recommended to take up this offer. The latest movies are more recent and some of the highlights at time of writing are Blade runner 2049, IT, Dunkirk, Kingsman: - the Golden Circle, War for the Planet of the Apes. Another section I really liked was the 24-hour TV shows, perfect for binge watching your favourite shows, highlights in this category for me was Only fools & horses, who doesn’t love a bit of Dell Boy? You’d be a right plonker to miss out.
2017 movies (43) - highlights, Vod - 24 series 1 -8 24 hour tv shows (14) - Only fools & horses, Peppa pig, Disney cartoons, marvel movies, Horror movies Adult - (24) - Hustler, Penthouse, Nubiles casting Afghanistan (12) - Ariana Tv, Kayhan Tv Africa (70) - GTV Sport plus, Rwanda Tv Arab (221) - Al Jazeera documentary, DMC Drama, Kuwait Sport Tv Bangladesh (24) - Zee Bangla, Cinema Bangla Being Sports (12) Bollywood Movies (19) Don 2, Chennai Express Box Sets A-C (Breaking Bad) Box Sets Q-S (Supernatural) Box Office / PPV (1) Brazil (40) Being Sports & Footy (40) English Movies Collection (147) Esponia (37) French (61) Game of thrones 7 Seasons Germany (42) Indian (73) Iran (44) Italy (102) Kids movies (122) - Disney films Netherlands (52) Pakistan (72) Portugal (84) Power seasons 1-3 Riviera Skynet sports (4) Simpsons (539) The walking dead 1-6 Turkey (76) U.K. Asian (26) U.K. Entertainment (60) U.K. Kids (24) U.K. Movies (42) U.K. Music (16) U.K. News (5) U.K. Reality (19) - Discovery, H2 U.K. Sports (88) - Sky Sports Premier League, MUTV, Celtic Tv USA (119) - Fox Sports, HBO
As you can see from the channel list, this second server is great if you are wanting access to international channels, this also enables you to watch 3pm kick-offs in the Premier League with such channels as Fox Sports and Skynet.
payment methods accepted:

cost of the service:
6 Months - £50, 12 Months £75. If you wish to take advantage of back-up service there is a special offer of £100 for the year for both service.
overall score:
I am highly impressed with Super Smart IPTV! The customer support is easily one of the best I have experienced and when you join Super Smart, you are joining a community that help each other, even in the rare occasions that the admin is offline for whatever reason.
Content wise, you get a lot of VOD for your money and you will never be at a loss for something to watch. The quality of the streams is very good with many live channels broadcasting in full HD. PPV is also provided so you'll never miss that important fight or event and unlike some other suppliers I tried, the PPV never buffered.
The back-up server is a great idea and means it is very unlikely that you will ever suffer total loss of service and can of course be used on a different device, meaning in effect you get a multi-room subscription for the price of one.
Overall Score: 4.5 Nearly perfection from Super Smart IPTV - Highly Recommended.
